Breema classes, workshops, and intensive programs are for anyone
interested in a practical way to deepen their relationship
to life while nurturing the body. Breema is appropriate for
laypersons and health professionals (whether or not enrolled
in the Breema Bodywork Practitioner Certificate Program) and
is taught in a refreshingly experiential manner.
The Breema Center was founded in California in
1980. Our purpose is to offer students a thorough
training in the Breema method. The Breema bodywork
student benefits from a teaching that emphasizes
practical experience, practice, and the integration
of Breema principles into daily life. The simple,
natural movements of Breema bodywork are comfortable,
energizing, and nurturing, and can balance
the energy of both the practitioner and recipient.
Through Breema, one can experience refreshment
and relaxation in the body, mental clarity,
and emotional balance. In addition to training
students who wish to receive a Practitioner
Certificate, an important objective of The
Breema Center is to serve those students whose
goal is personal enrichment rather than career
orientation. Studying Breema is appropriate
for anyone who is interested in a practical
way to bring more balance and harmony to their
life while nurturing the body.
Breema is based on universal principles which
govern life and health, and is a simple, natural
form of touch and body movement. There are
two branches of Breema. One is the bodywork.
The other is Self-Breema exercises. Both enhance
the flow of life energy and bring us to the
present. Breema sessions take place on a padded
floor, with the recipient comfortably dressed.
The method uses comfortably supported movements
including firm yet gentle stretches, precise
and gradual leans into the muscles, nurturing
brushes and holding postures and a wide variety
of playfully rhythmic movements.
Your best introduction
to Breema Bodywork is to experience a session.
We offer quarterly "Experience
Breema Evenings" where you can experience
a Breema mini-session. Potential students are
also invited to call the office and schedule
a free introductory session and a tour of our
center. The sessions are provided by graduates
of our Certificate program who are also available
to answer you questions about classes and our
Certificate program. Please call ahead to schedule.
