“What’s the source of that?” You could ask this question about anything you choose to look at. And you can apply this question to yourself. Your eyes are like a camera. You can never say who is looking through them. But you can say it’s something that exists. When you clearly see this is so, only then can you truly and accurately say, “I am looking.” All day long we say, “I’m looking, I’m talking, I’m walking,” but we don’t actually know who we’re referring to. Because before saying “I,” you have to experience it. You have to taste the existence of “I.” “I am” is the first truthful statement you can make.
