How to engage the Breema Center on Social Media

We hope that this Social Media Guide will give you a few pointers to help you find your way to the Breema Center posts on the social media site of your choosing and allow you to engage with the material with confidence.

There are many Breema students, practitioners, and instructors using these online tools, and many experiences can be shared in this newly expanding format. Whether or not you have a social media account, this guide as well as the helpful tutorial links included will help you learn how to navigate through all your social media profiles and account settings.

The Breema Center has an active presence on many social media platforms posting regularly for the following campaigns.

  • ESSENCE OF BREEMA—Throughout the year, excerpts from Breema Center books will be posted bimonthly on social media—and available for listening on our website—in order to make these essential writings more accessible to anyone who may find inspiration, clarity, and direction through them. We invite you to participate, listen, share, like, and otherwise help this material reach a wider audience. An Essence of Breema card can be downloaded at www.breema.info/card. Giving cards to family, friends, clients, or students is a great way of sharing the essential teachings available from the Breema Center.
  • BREEMA FOR THE BODY—Throughout the year, excerpts from Breema Center books specific to the benefits of Breema Bodywork and Self-Breema Exercises will be posted on social media.

After you sign up and log into your account, you can click “Like” and “Follow.” This will assure that you will see the Essence of Breema posts in your News Feed. Once you’re “Following” the Breema Center, the option to see our posts at the top of your News Feed will be available by checking the “See First” option on the “Following” drop-down menu. • THE FACEBOOK NEWS FEED: Though your Facebook News Feed can be overwhelming, it can be adjusted to your preferences. For example, the posts that you see most frequently in your News Feed are those that you spend the most time with through clicking “See First,” commenting, sharing, liking, and opening or the time you spend reading posts. The more a post is engaged with, the more likely that others will see related posts in their News Feed. This is what is called trending. By clicking the drop-down menu in the post you have the option of hiding posts that are not of interest, unfollowing folks, and saving posts to read at a later time. You can also download a News Feed eradicator which turns o your News Feed.
  • USING THE SEARCH TOOL: You can still engage the Facebook community without using your News Feed by typing in relevant searches. Hashtags (#) are a more frequently used tool as they are used across social media platforms. For example, type in #essenceofbreema, and you’ll have access to every Essence of Breema excerpt the Breema Center has posted. You can also search for groups and events near you.
  • JOIN A GROUP: By joining a group, you can post to and search through the thread of posts by members of that group. For example, if you joined a permaculture group in your area, you’d be able to read and share posts with like-minded individuals. If you joined the Breema Student Practice group, you would be able to potentially connect to other students in your area looking to practice or search for any students practicing near you.
  • FACEBOOK STORIES: Facebook Stories are single posts that circulate for a 24-hour period. Your friends Facebook Stories show up at the top of your Facebook News Feed. They  will also appear as "Colored Outlines" on your profile icon. Facebook stories are an immediate way to let your friends know about something happening. Facebook Stories can include an image, text, video in a portrait format.
  • LASTLY: If you make a mistake or want to edit something you’ve written, you can delete or edit a post or make a post private at any time. From your smart phone, it’s easy and fun to take a photo and post it to your account, especially if you’re doing Breema. Include a #breema or tag the photo, and your photo can be shared throughout the international Breema community.
  • FACEBOOK EVENTS: Facebook Events are common ways for people to find out about events they are interested in, that are happening around them, and/or that their friends, family, community are participating in. Every Facebook page has an Events Section that lists current, past, and upcoming events.
